I’m a Colorado native — born and raised in Denver — and I’ve spent 25 years helping people buy, sell, and invest here, in Aspen, and in Vail. That three-market thing sounds odd until you know the story: I grew up in Denver, lived and worked full-time in Aspen for years, and now keep a second home in Vail with my family. I’m not covering three markets to cover more ground — I actually live this way.
In 2002 I left a big national franchise firm and started View West Properties. Twenty-plus years later, it’s still the only Colorado real estate company on the Boards of Realtors in Denver, Boulder, Aspen, and Vail, and on the Colorado and National Associations of Realtors.
Almost everyone I work with, I already know — from squash, from my kids’ school, from the neighborhood — or they’ve been sent my way by someone I’ve worked with before. That’s the whole business model, really: show up, do right by people, and let them tell the next person. It means I care more about getting your deal right than about getting the next lead.
What I bring to a transaction isn’t access to listings — you’ll often find the property before I do. It’s knowing what it’s actually worth, negotiating the price and terms hard on your behalf, and steering you through the due diligence period without the pitfalls that trip up people who go it alone or work with someone who’s done twelve of these instead of a couple hundred.
Outside of work: my family, time in the mountains, a game of squash when I can get it, and a woodworking studio where I’m slower and far less confident than I am at the negotiating table.
